The Arcani Ledger, Vol. II, Part One

Hello, again, everyone. It’s a day late, but this week’s update is quite sizable. A lot of good things happened last week, but I'm only going to report one step at a time. We had another small rehearsal on Thursday, March 19th, up at Arcani HQ in Casselberry. There, we went through some lighting setups and I worked on smoothing over a scene we are to shoot this week. Ian Davis has since been promoted from “unofficial documentarian” to the grand title of --wait for it-- “official documentarian”. It only took 1.56 billion rubles to win him over. We are so happy to have his support and, obviously, his beautiful photography. He does both b&w and color, as you will see. Ian stopped in to take some photos of our progress during this busy time, and you will see his work below.

Jeremy and I are white balancing. . .with feeling.

Me, taking direction.

"How do you hold this thing, again?"

Kyle Smithy is a great PA. He's also an extra.

Jeremy is a meticulous cinematographer.

Mise-en-scène.

Jeremy is pleased with Kyle's impromptu boom impaling.

We assure you that the boom is not in the shot.

"Doesn't this thing use VHS-C?"

Some gear. Quilt not included.

"Hi, Ma. May I call you back?"

Ghosts.

Lighting is everything.

Enjoy the noir while you can.

Monster Claw attacks!

More gear.

We have a Panasonic AG-DVX100 series.

Even directors have to sit.

Another angle.

Double duty.

The camera is a better actor.

Jack-of-all-trades.
