The Arcani Ledger, Vol. VII

Hello, again.

This week sees two key scenes to lens on Full Sail University's backlot starring Steve "M." VanZandt (to avoid confusion with the actor/musician) and Kyle Davis.  By the end of this week, we will have around 60% of the film finished.  We have roughly 38 scenes in the script, and we've filmed about 20.  Jeremy and I actually see the "light at the end".  Most trauma sufferers also see this light, but we would like to think that it's coincidence.

We got the infamous briefing scene finished this last Sunday, April 26th, and here are some pictures taken by Ian Davis (no relation to Kyle), our documentarian.

Phil hates it when he can't get his child's temperature soy nonfat caramel latte.

In other words: arrogant actor bastard.

Set decoration.

Expect to see a spinoff film featuring these two (L-Jared, R-Scott).

Liam & Troy

Liam was really scary that afternoon.

It's a good thing my character's a slob. Check out those wrinkles!

Jeremy looks mad. I don't know why.

I told Phil that his name would be off the credits if he screwed the scene up.

Liam really appreciated the prop design.

Liam's picture wrap was on Sunday, and this was what Jeremy got.

The Arcani Ledger, Vol. VI

Hello once again. I apologize for the late update.

Here's a rundown of things that are happening:

  1. We are 50% done with principal photography.
  2. The official poster and company logo are just days away.
  3. Re-writing unshot key scenes to further accent the characters.
  4. Ian's pictures from Saturday the 18th's outdoor scene are below.
  5. The amounts of caffiene that we are imbibing are increasing.
  6. Jeremy and Chad's sleep week is less than 31 hours per person.
  7. The rough scene edits showcase solid performances from all cast.
  8. Phil spends 5 minutes before each shot preparing his hair.
  9. We are working with a music composer named Paul Olsen.
10. Feeding your extras beer keeps them happy.

Here are the pictures:

The Arcani Ledger, Vol. V

It's been a week of transition for us. Jeremy wanted a change of scenery, seeing as the footage he shot is (intentionally) claustrophobic.  Therefore, we went to Daytona Beach yesterday and shot a scene at night.  It turned out beautifully--with an unexpected surprise during the shoot-- and we ate some good food while we were there.  It was a great idea and a fine refresher.  Everyone involved is now much more centered.

With that being said, we're 30-40% finished with principal photography, with this week seeing another 10%.  This month is pretty packed, but we are even more focused and dedicated than before.  This month sees the "action" scenes, and Jeremy can't wait to shoot them.

Phil, our poster artist, whipped up a rough draft of the poster using some of Ian's pictures he took last Tuesday.  Since the poster isn't smoothed over, I can't show it yet.  I will, however, give a teaser image until we get our stuff together.  Enjoy!

The Arcani Ledger, Vol. IV

Hello, everyone. Once again, the update is a day late because we had another busy week.  Monday saw a scene with myself and another actor named Buddy Picarro.  It was a tight shoot because of time frame, location size, and sound concerns.  However, the footage is some of the strongest stuff we have so far, so it worked out.

This weekend was a simliar story.  Three scenes weres shot, including a nice-looking house seige on Saturday night, with neighbors watching and all.  On Sunday, we shot some scenes at Dan's new place.  The natural light that we got in the house was absolutely beautiful.  The editing will ultimately do it justice; the textures and compositions are stunning.  Since it was Dan's first day on the film, Jeremy and I requested some changes in his personal style.  In short: I took him to a stylist to make him look like he could be in law enforcement.  It wasn't a drastic change, but it does make Dan look sharper.

Ian was out of town this last weekend, so we didn't get pics of the last two days, but I am bringing you his pictures of Monday, March 30th's shoot.  Here they are.

I was in the zone.

Buddy waited patiently as the fake blood was applied.

I thought I saw an armadillo.

Buddy had some fun.

Jeremy at work.

Phil is both an intense actor and boom man.

The tripod was on chairs. Buddy and I are too tall.

They must have eaten SweetTarts.
